This vertical poster was designed to promote Milano Music Center’s Instrumental Rental Program, highlighting accessible, flexible rental options for musicians of all skill levels. The layout combines bold typography, a warm color palette, and an illustrative focal figure to create a welcoming, timeless feel that reflects Milano’s long-standing history. Clear hierarchy guides viewers through key information such as beginner and advanced rentals, month-to-month plans, included insurance, free delivery options, and available accessories, making the poster both visually engaging and easy to read for families, students, and educators.

Concept Sketch

This sketch represents an early conceptual exploration for the Milano Music Center poster design. It focuses on a cello player to visually connect the brand to classical music, craftsmanship, and performance. The hand-drawn composition allowed me to experiment with figure placement, instrument detail, and typographic flow, using the cello’s curves as a guide for hierarchy and movement. This stage helped establish the overall tone and direction before refining the illustration, layout, and branding elements digitally.

Concept Sketches

These additional sketches explored alternative instrument-focused concepts inspired by brands like Fender and Yamaha, emphasizing typography, hardware details, and sound equipment. While these ideas helped inform layout and hierarchy, I ultimately chose to develop the cello concept further—a slightly biased decision rooted in my personal experience of playing cello for over a decade and having directly rented and purchased instruments from Milano Music Center. This connection allowed the final design to feel more authentic and personally informed.

Typography Choice

Typography was chosen to closely align with Milano Music Center’s existing logo to maintain brand consistency. A clean, legible typeface was used to ensure clarity across different sizes, allowing the information to remain readable whether viewed up close or from a distance. This approach reinforces brand recognition while supporting accessibility and ease of communication.

Color Palette Choice

The color palette draws from warm, earthy tones inspired by the natural materials of string instruments and the heritage of Milano Music Center. Deep reds and warm browns create a sense of tradition and craftsmanship, while lighter neutrals provide contrast and breathing room for text. Together, these colors establish a welcoming, timeless feel that supports both the brand’s history and its educational mission.

Cello Player Illustration

This illustration was created in Adobe Illustrator and depicts a woman playing the cello, capturing both the elegance of the instrument and the expressive posture of the musician. I focused on simplified shapes, layered vector forms, and a warm, natural color palette to emphasize movement, balance, and emotion. Subtle highlights and shadows were used to define depth while maintaining a smooth, illustrative style. The composition reflects my interest in music and performance, translating the physical and emotional connection between musician and instrument into a refined vector illustration.
